Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of Cats in Shkoder, Albania
In partnership with House of Paws
In June, 2023 we started a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project for cats in Shkoder, Albania. We have now neutered 1513 cats.
TNR is the most effective method to humanely control stray animal populations by trapping, neutering, and returning them to their trapped location to live out the rest of their lives without reproducing.
Those of us who are familiar with the stray animal issue in Albania know that shelters are full beyond capacity, poisoning is common, and adoptions are rare. Yet, free-roaming cats and dogs keep multiplying on the streets. Often, entire new litters plus the mama are dumped as are sick and dying pets.
A neutering surgery not only prevents unwanted kittens, it also reduces the suffering of existing cats. Help us help more of them. You can donate via PayPal using the “Donate” button above or via our campaign on GoGetFunding.
